RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. ff 3f5approving plans and specification;
and authorizing the City Clerk to advertise for bids for t
construction of improvements to Holiday Park, Phase 11, Project N
3314.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
In the 1988-1989 Capital Improvement Program Budget, the Ci
Council appropriated funds forthe Phase I1 improvements to Holid
Park. These improvements include the installation of securi
lighting throughout the park, park benches, trash receptacles, h
coal barbecue receptacles, drinking fountains, a large picn structure, sinks and cabinets, additions to the existing tot 1 play apparatus, fencing, and related site improvement
Construction is anticipated to begin during the month of Decemb
and require approximately three months to complete.
The plans and specifications for the installation of the pa improvements are now complete. It is recommended that the Ci Council authorize the advertisement of bids for the constructi
of the improvements.
GENERAL PLAN CONSISTENCY:
The Phase I1 improvements to Holiday Park, as an element of t City's Capital Improvement Program, have been determined previous reviews by the Planning Commission to be consistent wi the Carlsbad General Plan.

FISCAL IMPACT:
In the 1988-1989 Capital Improvement Budget, the City Counc appropriated $100,045 for the Phase I1 improvements to Holic Park. These funds currently exist in Project Account No. 330-82
1821-3314 and should be sufficient for the construction of thc improvements subject to receipt of competitive construction bid
