DEPT. RES REVISION OF PLANNING COMMISSION SALARIES
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. r$?-37/ adjusting the salaries of the City's Planning Commissioners to $100 per meeting up to a maximum of $200 per month.
IT EM EXP LANAT I ON :
Planning Commissioners in the City of Carlsbad are currently compensated at a rate of $50 per meeting, up to a maximum of $100 per month. Due to the increasing complexity of planning issues in Carlsbad, it has become necessary for the Planning Commissioners to expend a steadily increasing amount of time in carrying out their duties and responsibilities. Because of this increasing time commitment, it is proposed that the salaries of the City's Planning Commissioners be revised to $100 per meeting, with a maximum of $200 per month. This increase will make their compensation consistent with the proposed compensation of the Water Commission.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The salary increase proposed for the seven Planning Commissioners will cost approximately $8,400 per year.
