Dear Mayor Lewis:
The Carlsbad Sister City Committee and Daniels Cablevision are
working together to sponsor a 10-kilometer run October 28, be-
ginning and ending at the Poinsettia Village Shopping Center.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Carlsbad Sister City
Committee program and its effort to send Carlsbad High School
students on exchange trips to our sister city, Futtsu, Japan.
The city permit required to put on this event costs $300. On
behalf of the sister City Committee, I am asking that the City
Council waive this fee, which will allow the Sister City Com-
mittee to realize an additonal $300 for its work on behalf of
the City of Carlsbad.
