ENG PEDESTRIAN ACCESS RAMPS, PROJECT NO. 3739 I:;;;: RECOMMENDED ACTION: Adopt Resolution No, 90'- '! approving plans and specificati authorizing the City Clerk to advertise for bids for construction of the CDBG Pedestrian Access Ramps. ITEM EXPLANATION: This project involves the reconstruction of pedestrian crosswz to provide for handicapped access ramps. Many of the 01 intersections in the City redevelopment area will be improa This was prioritized as a Community Development Block Grant proj by the.City Council on May 23, 1989. The plans, specifications, and contract documents for improvements have been completed and are now ready advertisement for construction bids. Staff recommends that City Council approve the project plans and specifications will begin in March, 1990, in order to facilitate Completion bel the Village Faire activities in May. authorize the advertisement of construction bids Construct ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW: This project has received a Notice of Exemption per the Califor Environmental Quality Act, Section 15301 (C) and per the Natic Environmental Policy Act, 24 CFR, Part 58.34 (a)(10). The proj is exempt because it involves reconstruction and maintenance existing public improvements. GENERAL PLAN CONSISTENCY: The proposed handicapped access ramps, being a reconstructior existing street improvements, have been previously determined be consistent with the Carlsbad General Plan. FISCAL IMPACT: Funds for this project are provided by the Community Developn Block Grant Program, Department of Housing and Urban Developmc $46,800.00 is available. The total estimated costs are $83,40C for Construction Alternate A and $41,600.00 for Construct Alternate B.
