Receiving a shipment of oil triggers a number of events for us: On notice theit a vessel is approaching, we dispatch a Hooring Master and Warine Representative to the vessel vben it is two miles off the coast. The Mooring Master, who is e United States Coast Guard (U.S.C.G.) rated )laster, will take the helm of the vessel and steer it to a correct mooring. The Marhe Representative (a licensed bring #aster as well) is the SDGU marine safety officer after the vessel is moored. At the s8me time the above personnel are dispatched, we send out a mooring boat and diver/pdlution control boat which will inspect the mooring and unloading facility prior to the arrival of the vessel. The mooring boats are manned with divers and other contract personnel. The transfer of the fuel cargo from the tanker to our shore tanks is via a flexible hose assembly and underwater steel pipeline.
