RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 7J-Y6 accepting bids and awarding a contrz
for the installation of a traffic signal system at Carlsl Boulevard and Cerezo Drive and Monroe Street and Chestnut Avenl
Project Nos. 3333 and 3318.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On December 5, 1989, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 1
419 approving plans, specifications, and contract documents i authorizing the advertisement of bids for the installation 01
traffic signal system at the above intersections.
On February 20, 1990, five (5) sealed bids were received follows:
1. Steiny & Company, Incorporated $ 130,427 2. DBX, Incorporated $ 144,314 3. MCR Electrical Contractors, Incorporated $ 149,246 4. D & H Perry, Incorporated $ 151,200
5. Select Electric Company $ 153,665
References have been verified on the low bidder and St; recommends award of the construction of the project to Stein] Company, Incorporated.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funds in the amount of $100,000 have been appropriated in the 19
90 Capital Improvement Program budget for the Monroe and Chest traffic signal and are available in Account No. 320-820-184-33
Funds in the amount of $75,000 have been appropriated by Resolut * w No. 89-153 for the Cerezo and Carlsbad Boulevard signal which a
includes three (3) streetlights and are available in Account : 5
