ITEM EXPLANATION: On January 9, 1990, the City Council authorized the advertiseml for bids for the project. Six (6) sealed bids were received February 27, 1990, as follows: Alternate B Alternate 1. Manuel Juarez Construction $28,861.50 $57,912.8 2. B-1 Enterprise Corporation 33,810.00 68,864.0 3. JHP Construction, Inc. 41,059.80 78,520.0 4. Schaefer Construction 46,632.66 94,130.0 5. Concrete Contractors Interstate 53,976.00 89,190.0 6. D/K Construction 54,615.30 111,737.01 The engineer's estimate on this project was $41,600.00 Alternate B and $83,400.00 for Alternate A. References have b( verified on the low bidder, Manuel Juarez Construction. St( recommends the award of this contract to Manuel Jua: Construction, in the amount of $28,861.50 for Alternate B. This project involves the construction of pedestrian access ral at thirty (30) locations within the Redevelopment Area as indica on the attached Exhibit A. The ramps will meet State handicap access requirements. Construction is anticipated to begin within thirty (30) days require forty-five (45) days to complete. FISCAL IMPACT: The project is funded by the Community Development Block Gr( Program, Department of Housing and Urban Development. Availa: project funds are $46,800.00 in Project Account No. 302-820-18' 3739.
