Adopt Resol uti on No. ,%/-LA declaring that the public intere convenience and necessity require the issuance of a certificate to Amigo
Company of Encinitas, Incorporated to operate two taxi cabs in the City
Carlsbad and ordering the City Clerk to issue said certificate subject
certain conditions.

An application has been received from the officers of Amigo Cab Company Encinitas, Incorporated to operate a taxi service in the City of Carlsb This application has been reviewed by City staff and is in order.
necessary inspections have been made and all fees have been paid.
The fares proposed by Amigo Cab Company of Encinitas, Incorporated are
follows:
$ 1.40 first 1/11 mile $.15 each additional 1/11 mile $12.00 hourly waiting time
At the present time the City is served by four companies. Since there no limitation on the number of companies that may serve the Ci
applications are accepted and processed upon request.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The approval of an additional taxi cab has very little fiscal impact on
City. The license fees assessed for tax cab licenses will only genev
$25.00 per taxi. The fares above are competitive with other compar
serving Carlsbad.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, DETERMINING THAT THE PUBLIC
INTEREST, CONVENIENCE, AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THE ISSUANCE OF A CERTIFICATE TO AMIGO CAB COMPANY OF
ENCINITAS, INC., TO OPERATE TWO TAXICABS IN THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD AND ORDERING THE CITY CLERK TO
ISSUE SAID CERTIFICATE SUBJECT TO CERTAIN CONDITIONS
WHEREAS, Amigo Cab Company of Encinitas, Inc., in accordance \
Chapter 5.20 of the Municipal Code has applied for a Certificate
Convenience and Necessity to operate taxicab service within the Cit!
Carlsbad; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to said chapter a public hearing was held on M<
27, 1990, to determine whether or not the public interest, conveniei
and necessity require the issuance of the certificate applied for an(
WHEREAS, at said hearing all persons having interests in the ma
were heard;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the Cit:
Carl sbad, Cal i forni a as foll ows :
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the pub1 i c interest , convenience and necessity require
issuance of the certificate applied for.
3. That said certificate is hereby issued to Amigo Cab Compan
Encinitas, Inc., subject to the following terms and conditions:
Carl sbad. (a) The certificate permits service throughout the Citj
(b) Two taxicab vehicles are authorized.
(c) The schedule of fares to be charged shall be:$1.40 for
first 1/11 mile and $.15 each additional 1/11 mile thereafter. $12.00
hour for waiting time/traffic delay. No surcharge for out of area ser
and no charges for extra luggage or passengers.
(d) The certificate and the operation of taxi service purs thereto shall be subject to all of the provisions of Chapter 5.20 of Municipal Code.

(e) The certificate is issued to commence on the date adoption of this Resolution.
(f) Applicant's application form which is on file in the Off of the Finance Director, shall be made a part of this certificate, and incorporated by reference herein.
(9) The City shall have the right to inspect all vehicles any time to insure they are maintained in safe operation condition.
(h) Applicant may only use the vehicles listed on
appl i cat i on.
(i) Applicant shall file certification of insurance in amounts of $100,000/300,000 with the Risk Manager prior to commenc service pursuant to this certificate.
(j) No taxi stands are permitted.
That the City Clerk Is hereby directed to issue a copy of 1 4.
Resolution as a certificate in accordance with Chapter 5.20 of
Carl sbad Municipal code.
5. That the certificate shall not be issued until the applical
had complied with all of the hereinabove terms and conditions.
