RECOMMENDED ACTION:
If the City Council concurs, your action is to adopt
Resolution No. 7&-/45; approving a supplement to the
agreement for consulting traffic engineering services.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On June 1, 1987, the City entered into an agreement with
Bouman and Associates, Inc., for retention of his service5
as a traffic engineer consultant on the Village Streetscal
Project and other various traffic planning matters.
The terms and conditions of the supplement agreement rema
consistent with previous agreements. The consultant’s
services will be required on a regular basis to assist Sti
with parking studies, design and development of parking
lots, traffic pattern analysis and assistance,
recommendation on Carlsbad Boulevard/Carlsbad Village Drii
Streetscape Project a
Since the original agreement was under $15,000, City Counc
approval was not needed. It is now necessary to increase
the value of the agreement over the $15,000 limit and, therefore, City Council’s authorization to take this actic
is requested.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Maximum fees payable to the consultant under the original
1987 agreement are $10,000. This supplement agreement wi
amend previous agreements and adjust the maximum fees
payable to the consultant to $22,500. Funds are availabl(
3410-2479.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL Of THE CTTY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING A SUPPLEMENT TO THE
AGREEMENT FOR CONSULTING TRAFFIC ENGINEERING SERVICE
WHEREAS, the City Council, has determined that it is
desirable and necessary to retain the consulting services
a traffic engineer for the Village Streetscape Project an
other traffic planning matters.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, by the City
Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That a supplemental agreement between the City and t
firm of Bouman and Associates, Inc., for consulting traff
engineering services, a copy of which is attached as Exh-
"A" and incorporated herein by reference is hereby appro\
3. That the supplement to the agreement will amend
previous agreements and adjust the maximum fees payable I

4. That the funds are available in the Redevelopment
Agency budget.

SUPPLEMENTAL AGREEMENT FOR
CONSULTING TRAFFIC ENGINEERING SERVICES
This supplement to the agreement with BOUMAN AND ASSOCIATES. II
dated June 1, 1987, amends Section 3. FEES PAID TO THE
CONSULTANT, paragraph O., to read as follows:
0. The maximum fees payable under this contract are
$22,500.
