RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. ffl $96, awarding the bid for upgrading the City’s ti system to Ate1 Communications, Inc. and authorizing Dial-Pro San Diego, install the call processing system in accordance with their proposal date1 May 17, 1990.

On May 1, 1990, Council adopted Resolution No. 90-126 authorizing stgff to proposals to upgrade the City’s telephone system and to negotiate axontr Dial-Pro San Diego, Inc. in order to implement call processing in the Cit
A Request for Proposal was prepared with the assistance of the consulting Barry/Buckl ey International , Inc., and mai 1 ed to five vendors qual if i ed to the City’s telephone system.
FISCAL IMPACT
Cost of the telephone system upgrade is $64,006.34 and the cost of processing system is $175,104.47 for a total cost of $239,110.81. of May 1, 1990, $250,000 was appropriated for completion of the project. At the

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING PROPOSALS AND
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF TWO PURCHASE ORDERS TO IMPLEMENT CALL PROCESSING.
WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad desires to implement call pr
technology; and
WHEREAS, the City received three responsive bids to its request for
to upgrade the City‘s telephone system; and
WHEREAS, staff was authorized to negotiate a contract with Dial-Pr
Diego, Inc. for a call processing system,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of C
California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the bid of Atel Communications, Inc. 5450 Complex Stree.
312, San Diego, CA 92123 is hereby accepted and the Purchasing
is hereby directed to execute a Purchase Order to Atel Communi1
Inc. for the upgrade of the City’s telephone system in accord;
their proposal dated May 22, 1990 in the amount of $64,006.34
That the Purchasing Officer is hereby directed to execute a
Order to Dial-Pro of San Diego, Inc., 12625 High Bluff Drive,
108, San Diego, CA 92130 for the installation of a call prc
