RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution NO.:^ -3 6 daccepting a donation from The William Lyc
Company, Home Savings of America and The Olive Garden Restaurant.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
The William Lyon Company, Home Savings of America and the Olive Garde
Restaurant are donating funds to the City of Carlsbad Arts Office totalling $33
to assist in meeting the cost of the Pops Concert held on September 2, 1990. TI
concert took place at the corner of Faraday and Priestly Drive in the Carlsba
Research Center and admission to the concert was free. Police estimate th;
attendance was over 6,000 people.
The Arts Commission recommends the City accept the donation of funds for tf
Pops Concert.
FISCAL IMPACT
A donation of $2,500 was previously accepted. The donations will be deposited in1
the Pops Trust Fund, account no. 880-519-9216-0000 and used to offset related Pol
Concert expenses.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSB,
CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A DONATION OF FUNDS FOR P(
CONCERT.
WHEREAS, the City of Carlsbad Arts Office provides cultural opportun
for Carlsbad residents; and
WHEREAS, the City Council appropriated funds for the Pops Concert
authorized the Arts office to pursue contributed funds to offset expenses; and
WHEREAS, additional funding has been contributed,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
of Carlsbad, California as follows:
1. The above recitations are true and correct.
2. The donations in the amount of $3,500 to the City of Carlsbad from
William Lyon Company, Home Savings of America and The Olive Gal
Restaurant to the Arts Office in support of the Pops Concert is hereby accep
and deposited into the Pops Trust Fund, account no. 880-519-9216-0000.

Carlsbad City Council held on the zhday of October 1990, by the following c
