RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 90- 427 appropriating additional funds for the constl
of improvements and capacity expansion of the Agua Hedionda Sewage Pump E
Project No. 3303.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On January 16, 1990, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 90-12 awardir
construction contract for improvements and capacity expansion to the existing
Hedionda Sewage Pump Station, Project No. 3303. The facility transmits sewagl
the City of Vista and the northern portion of the City of Carlsbad to the Encina
Pollution Control Facility. The existing Agua Hedionda Pump Station is owned joil
the City of Vista (61.5%) and the City of Carlsbad (38.5%), but operated by Encin
During progress of the work consultant costs have exhausted the engineerin
inspection service funds originally appropriated. Redesign of the emergency ger
building and overflow basin as well as additional construction survey and hazz
waste removal were at cause. It is recommended that an additional $25,0
appropriated to complete the project.

The funds are available for transfer from Sewer Enterprise Fund (Fund No. 512)
Project Construction Account 51 2-820-1 850-3303.
The City of Vista has been requested to provide their proportionate share of the n
necessary to complete construction which will be in addition to this appropriation

California, as follows:

2. That an appropriation of $25,000 for Engineering and Inspection Servicl

is approved.
