Adopt Resolution No. 3 / -2 q approving contract documents, special provislons and specifications, and authorizing the City Clerk to advertise for bids for the
1990-91 Curb, Gutter and Sidewalk Replacevent Program.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
The City of Carlsbad is in its sixth year of concentrated
work of replacing failed or failing curbs, gutters, sidewalks and driveway approaches. This year 1s program specifies 15,175 square feet of sidewalk; 850 lineal feet of curb and gutter; and 741 square feet of driveway approaches; 1,590 square feet of cross gutter and 1,518 square feet of spandril (spandril is the section at which the gutter meets the seam of the cross gutter) , for replacement in various parts of the City. Also included in this year's program are root pruning and the installation of 300 lineal feet of root barriers to extend the life of the concrete work.
Contractdocuments, special provisions and specifications have been prepared and are on file in the City Clerk's Office, the Purchasing, and the Utilities and Maintenance Departments. The work is anticipated to take place during April and May and will take approximately twenty
(20) work days to complete.

Project costs are estimated to be $126,650. Funds are available in Account No. 001-820-5110-2411.

DOCUMENTS, SPECIAL PROVISIONS AND SPECIFICATION, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO ADVERTISE FOR
REPLACEMENT PROGRAM
BIDS FOR THE 1990-91 CURB, GUTTER AND SIDEWALK
6 II 7 WHEREAS, the contract documents, special provisions and
8 specifications for the furnishing of all labor, materials, tools, equipment, 9
10 transportation and other expenses necessary and incidental for the 1990-91
11 Curb, Gutter and Sidewalk Replacement Program, Contract No. 91-3, have
12 been prepared and are on file in the City Clerk’s Office of the City of
l3 Carlsbad and are incorporated by reference herein.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
