Adopt Resolution No. 9, -1 1 ? accepting bids and awarding a contract in the amount of $89,598.00 to JHP Construction of Oceanside for the replacement of curbs, gutters and sidewalks
in various locations throughout the City.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
On January 22, 1991, the City Council approved the contract
documents special provisions and specifications and authorized
the City Clerk to advertise for bids for the 1990-91 Curb, Gutter and Sidewalk Replacement Program.
The replacement work will be accomplished at various locations throughout the City. The project listing and location maps are on file in the City Clerk's Office and Purchasing Department.
Eleven (11) bids were received, opened, witnessed and recorded on March 14, 1991. The bids were reviewed by staff from the Purchasing and Utilities and Maintenance Departments. JHI Construction of San Diego was the lowest responsive bidder ir
the amount of $89,598.00. The remaining bids received rangec in price from $97,985.65 to $155,822.00
FISCAL IMPACT:
Project funds are available in Account No. 001-820-5110-2411.

WHEREAS, bids have been received by the City of
Carlsbad, California, for the 1990-91 Curb, Gutter and
Sidewalk Replacement Program;
I WHEREAS, the lowest responsive bid received for the

i project was submitted by JHP Construction of Oceanside, in
the amount of $89,598.00; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in account number 001-
820-5111-2411 for the project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. The above recitations are true and correct.
2: The bid of $89,598.00 by JHP Construction of
Oceanside, for the 1990-91 Curb, Gutter and Sidewalk
Replacement Program, Contract No. U/M 91-3, is hereby
accepted and the Mayor and the City Clerk. are hereby i
authorized to execute a contract therefore.
