TITLE: ACCEPTANCE OF DONATIONS FOR
ANNUAL TRIATHLON (ACTION)
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Receive donations from the Herrick Corporation representing the Capitol Bank of Carlsbad
and the Fieldstone Company totalling five thousand dollars ($5,000). Recommend
acceptance by the City Council.
ITEM EXPLANATION;
The Special Events Department has received a twenty-five hundred dollar ($2,500) donation
from the Herrick Corporation in support of the annual Triathlon. The Triathlon attracts
approximately 1,200 participants from all over Southern California. The money will be used
to pay for awards and offset expenses for race programs and advertising.
The Special Events Department additionally received another generous donation in the
amount of twenty-five hundred dollars ($2,500) from the Fieldstone Company. This money
will be used to help pay for awards, race programs, and advertising costs.
The Department recommends acceptance of these donations totalling five thousand dollars
($5,000). Letters of appreciation will be sent on behalf of the Parks and Recreation
Department.
FISCAL IMPACT;
Funds in the amount of $5,000 will be deposited into the Triathlon trust account.
