As this program has now become an annual one, staff will subm projects nearly ready for construction on a yearly basis.
FISCAL IMPACT :
Matching funds apply only to construction and constructi
management costs for roadways. Design and utilities are n eligible. Although State funds can be as high as 50% of t construction cost, the actual amount depends on the number eligible projects statewide. Funding for Cycle 1 was 21.773 Funding for future cycles is estimated to be between 10-15% due increased competition from other projects.
The total construction costs for the proposed projects a estimated to be $15,800,000. At a 10-15% State match, there is t
potential to receive $1,580,000 to $2,370,000 in State funding.

RESOLUTION NO. 91-173
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MAKE
APPLICATION TO CALTRANS FOR STATE-LOCAL PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM FUNDS FOR CERTAIN ARTERIAL STREET IMPROVEMENTS AND TO WITHDRAW CANNON ROAD FROM THE CURRENT YEAR PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends and the City Co
concurs that the City Engineer be authorized to make applicati
CALTRANS for State-Local Partnership Program funding for ce
arterial street improvements; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends and the City Co
concurs that the City Engineer be authorized to withdraw the C
Road applications previously made to CALTRANS.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
of Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the City Council authorizes the City Enginec
make applications to CALTRANS for State-Local Partnership Pr
funding for the following arterial street improvements:
a. Palomar Airport Road from El Camino Real to Bus
Park Drive.
b. Palomar Airport Road and El Camino
Intersection.
c. Palomar Airport Road/Interstate 5 Interchange
d. Tamarack Avenue: Carlsbad Boulevard to Jeff
Street.
e. El Camino Real: Palomar Airport Road to Fa
Avenue.
