CIT COMMISSION APPOINTMENT - RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution NO. qb/7q , appointing one member to the Historic Preservation Commission.
ITEM EXPLANATION
Brian Robertson has resigned as a member of the Historic Preservation Commission. The vacated term does not expire until April, 1992.
The Municipal Code specifies the categories for the members. Mr. Robertson's original appointment was in the following category:
"Three members, each of whom has a different recognized expertise in architectural, archaeology, history, biology, engineering or geology as a re1 ated filed. "
The other two members in this category are Eitan Aharoni (architecture)

Dear Buddy,
It's been a pleasure to serve on the Historic Preservation Commission for the
past 6 years, but it's time for me to step aside and let others have the opportunity. I
have also resigned my 18-year teaching position at Palomar College in San Marcos as
my family and I are going to be moving to Idaho this summer.
I am going to pursue my love of photography and continue writing for Tmiler
Lllfe and MotorHome magazines for whom I've written for on a freelance basis since
1984.
The experience that I received and the people that I met while serving Carlsbad
has proven very valuable to me. My association with the staff at the Redevelopment
She is the most knowledgeable, honest, hard working employee that, in my opinion,
the City has on staff. I was recently saddened by her transfer to engineering and I
personally saw the morale, efficiency and productivity of Redevelopment take a nose
dive. I realize that Council members to not deal with staffing decisions, but I feel this
decision is a detriment to not only the Redevlopment office, but the entire City.
