ITEM EXPLANATION:
Car Country Drive is classified as an industrial street and has a right of way wid
feet. The road was constructed in 1988 as part of Carlsbad Tract 87-3, Car (
Expansion, and is 0.66 miles in length. Road improvements constructed include c
gutter, sidewalks, street lights and three 20-foot wide truck turnouts for unloadi
vehicles. Car Country Drive is striped for one traffic lane in each direction and ha
way left turn lane in the center of the road. Parking is permitted on both sides oft
except on the curve near Paseo Del Norte.
Sections 22357 and 22358 of the California Vehicle Code authorizes local authc
establish a prima facie speed limit on the basis of the results of an engineering ar
survey. Staff presented the results of the survey to the Traffic Safety Commis
June 3, 1991. Based upon the results of the engineering and traffic sur
Commission recommended, by a 3-0 vote, that a prima face 35 mile per hour spf
be established upon Car Country Drive from Cannon Road to Paseo Del Norte.
FISCAL IMPACT:
installing four speed limit signs will cost approximately $220.00.

CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 10, CHAPTER 10.44 OF THE CARLSBAC

COUNTRY DRIVE FROM CANNON ROAD TO PASEO DEL NORTE.
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California hereby ordains as fol
SECTION 1: That Title 10, Chapter 10.44 of the Carlsbad Municipal
amended by the addition of Section 10.44.370 to read as follows:
