City Council adopt Resolution No. @I I -a\ L accepting a $982.99 donation from the Hughes Aircraft Employees GO (Give Once)
Club.
Item Explanation:
On May 3, 1991, the Carlsbad Senior Center received a check in the amount of $982.99, from the Hughes Aircraft Company
Employees GO Club.
Senior Commission Recommendation:
At their meeting on June 6, 1991, the Senior Commission
accepted $982.99 donated by the Hughes Employees GO Club. The
Senior Commission recommends that this donation be deposited
into the Senior Trust Fund to be utilized to purchase special
equipment at the Senior Center.
Fiscal Impact:
The $982.99 donation has been deposited into the Senior Trust
Fund Account #880-519-9203-0000.

Carlsbad Senior Center.
The check has been deposited into the Senior Citizen Trust Fund where it will be utilize
purchase a special piece of equipment (Le. piano, video projector, etc.) or to supp~
special program (Le., dance, excursion, etc.} recommended by the Senior Commissic
As you are aware, the Carlsbad Senior Center is a multipurpose Center and as suct
provide: a hot noon day lunch to an average of 150 Seniors per day; home delivered m
to Carlsbad’s homebound elders; transportation to and from the Center--me(
appointments, lunch, and grocery shopping; legal, tax and insurance counseling; hc
screenings; day trips; cards; and a variety of educational and recreational activities.
The past year has been a very exciting year for the Carlsbad Senior program. We t
settled into our new Center and have seen the addition of many new programs
services, as well as experienced significant growth in participation in all activities.
A few of the highlights of our new programs are: monthly dances, Tai Chi, ballroom dz
classes; needlecraft classes, monthly educational seminars; candy making and more.
I would be very pleased to schedule a tour so that you and any GO Club members cc
view first hand this active, beautiful Center.

RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A DONATION OF
NINE HUNDRED EIGHT TWO DOLLARS AND NINETY NIN
CENTS ($982.99).
WHEREAS, the Hughes Aircraft Company Employees Give Once CIL
donated nine hundred eighty two dollars and ninety nine cents ($982.99)
the Carlsbad Senior Center; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept this gift;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the Ci
of Carlsbad as follows:
1. That the City Council accepts the donation of nine hundred eighty tv
dollars and ninety nine cents ($982.99) on behalf of the Senior Citizens of tt
City of Carlsbad.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the CI
