ITEM EXPLANATION:
On January 15, 1991, the City Council authorized the advertisement of bids fo construction of the above traffic signal.
On May 24, 1991, six (6) sealed bids were received as follows:
1. Knox Electric 2. MCR Electrical Contractor, Incorporated .3. Steiny & Company 4. Lekos Electric 5. DBX Incorporated
6. Select Electric

References have been verified on the low bidder and staff recommends the awa contract for the Palomar Oaks and Palomar Airport Road Traffic Signal to El ectri c .
FISCAL IMPACT:
This project will be totally funded by the developers. The City has received from the adjacent developers as foll ows:

TOTAL $93,18
Staff recommends the total appropriation of developer‘s contribution in the 2 of $93,184. The construction expenditure breakdown is as follows:

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING BIDS AND AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE PALOMAR AIRPORT.
ROAD & PALOMAR OAKS WAY TRAFFIC SIGNAL, PROJECT NO. 3345
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad has determ

necessary, desirable, and in the public interest to construct the Palomar,
was submitted by Knox Electric in the amount of $73,264; and g
WHEREAS, the low bid received for the construction of said 8
Road and Pal omar Oaks Way Traffic Signal ; and
