ACCEPTANCE OF DONATION FROM THE
TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS CHARITIES
City Council adopt Resolution No. '?l.a73 accepting a $1,0
donation from La Costa Hotel & Spa, and the INFINI
Tournament of Champion Charities.
Item Explanation:
On June 3, 1991, representatives of the La Costa Hotel a
Spa, and the INFINITI Tournament of Champions Charitab
Foundation presented the Carlsbad Senior Center with a che
of $1,000.
Senior Commission Recommendation:
At their meeting on August 1, 1991, the Senior Commissi
accepted $1,000 raised through the INFINITI Tournament
Champions Charities. The Senior Commission recommends th
this donation be deposited into the Senior Trust Fund to
utilized to purchase special equipment at the Senior Cente
Fiscal Impact:
The $1,000 donation has been deposited into the Senior Tru Fund Account #880-519-9203-0000.

Dear Mr. Kinoshita:
Many thanks goes out to you, the LaCosta Hotel and Spa, and the INFINITE
Tournament of Champions for the generous donation to the Carlsbad Senior Center.
The check has been deposited into the Senior Citizen Trust Fund where it will be utili
purchase a special piece of equipment &e. piano, video projector, etc.) or to support a :
program (Le., dance, excursion, ek.1 recommended by the Senior Commission.
As you are aware, the Carlsbad Senior Center is a multipurpose Center and as su
provide: a hot noon day lunch to an average of 150 Seniors per day; home delivered
to Carlsbad’s homebound elders; Wansportation to and from the Center-medical appoint.
lunch, and grocery shopping; legal, tax and insurance counseling; health screenings; day
cards; and a variety of educational and recreational activities.
The past year has been a very exciting year for the Carlsbad Senior program. We have
into our new Center and have seen the addition of many new programs and services, i
as experienced sigmficant growth in participation in all activities. A few of the high.&
our new programs are: monthly dances and movies, Tai Chi, ballroom dance c
needlecraft classes, monthly educational seminars and health screenings, candy maki
more.. ...
I would be very pleased to schedule a tour so that you could view fist hand this
beautiful Center.

RESOLUTION NO. 91-279
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A DONATION OF
ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1,000).
WHEREAS, the La Costa Hotel and Spa, and the INFlNlTl Tournamc
of Champion Charities donated one thousand dollars ($1,000) to the Carlsb
Senior Center; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept this gift;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the C
of Carlsbad as follows:
1. That the City Council accepts the donation of one thousand doll;
($1,000) on behalf of the Senior Citizens of the City of Carlsbad.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the C
Council of the City of Carlsbad held on the 3rd day
September , 1991, by the following vote, to wit:
