ITEM EXPLANATION
The authority for the destruction of documents that are more than two years old i
longer required is set forth in Section 34090 of the Government Code. The consent
City Attorney and authorization of the City Council also is required prior to the destruc
any document.
The documents listed as Exhibit "A" in Resolution No. 9 / " kg5 haw
reviewed in accordance with the provisions of Section 34090 of the Government Code
meet those requirements and the City Attorney has consented to their destruction.

RESOLUTION NO. 91-285
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE
DESTRUCTION OF CERTAIN FILES
WHEREAS, maintaining obsolete files, correspondence and other F
is uneconomical; and
WHEREAS, Section 34090 of the Government Code provides for destr
of certain records; and
WHEREAS, the documents listed in Exhibit "A', attached hereto, and
a part hereof, have been reviewed by the Purchasing Officer; and
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Officer recommends that all documents
in Exhibit "AI are no longer required and meet the requirements of Government
Section 34090 for destruction; and
WHEREAS, the City Attorney has consented to the destruction
documents listed in Exhibit "A"
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
