DEPT. HR AND APPOINTMENT OF ACTING CITY ATTORNEY
I RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 9/-$78 accepting the letter of resignation of the
City Attorney and appointing an Acting City Attorney.
JTFM EXPLANATION:
The City Council met in closed session on Tuesday, December 10, 1991, in
order to discuss the letter of resignation submitted by the City Attorney,
Vince Biondo, effective January 3, 1991. The attached resolution reflects
the City Council’s decision to accept the City Attorney’s resignation and
authorizes that Mr. Biondo be paid for all accrued vacation leave.
It is also the Council’s decision to appoint Ronald Ball, Assistant City
Attorney, as Acting City Attorney effective January 4, 1991, until such
time that the Council conducts a recruitment and makes a permanent
appointment. Mr. Ball will be compensated at a biweekly salary of $3,625
with a monthly car allowance of $225.

RESOLUTION NO. 91-408
ACCEPTING THE RESIGNATION OF THE CITY
ATTORNEY AND AUTHORIZING PAYMENT OF ALL
ACCRUED VACATION; AND APPOINTING AN
ACTING C1I-Y AT’WRNFY.
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined to accept the
resignation of the City Attorney effective January 3, 1992; and t
WHEREAS, the City Council has agreed to pay the City Attorney
for all accrued vacation leave; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is determined to conduct an
executive search and recruitment for a new City Attorney; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it is
appropriate to appoint an Acting City Attorney.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad as follows:
1. That the above ;ecitations are true and correct.
2. That the resignation of the City Attorney is accepted
effective January 3, 1992, and payment of all accrued vacation
leave.
3. That the City Council appoints Assistant City Attorney
Ronald Ball as Acting City Attorney effective January 4, 1992.

4. That the salary for the Acting City Attorney shall be

5. That the Acting City Attorney shall receive an auto

PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the
Carlsbad City Council held on the 17th day of December ,
1991, by the following vote, to wit:
