ITEM EXPLANATION
Last November, the City Council awarded bids to various vendors for firefighting WE
the option to renew each contract for two one (1) year periods. There were eighteei
of protective clothing on the annual contract last year. Fourteen items have been ac
for renewal; however, due to changes in specifications for the boots and helmets,
necessary to go out to bid for these four items.
In order to take advantage of purchasing in volume for twenty-eight county agencie:

FISCAL IMPACT
Each of the public agencies that participate in the cooperative purchase will plac
respective order@) with the selected vendors. The City of Carlsbad's Fire Dep:
anticipates spending approximately $6,000 for firefighting wear during this fiscal year.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF
FIREFIGHTER'S PROTECTIVE BOOTS AND HELMETS
WHEREAS, it is advantageous to the City to join with other County agencie
purchase of firefighting wear; and
WHEREAS, bid proposals were submitted by twelve vendors and were
against known criteria.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ci

That the above facts are true and correct.
That the bid for Items 1, 3 and 4 as shown on Exhibit "A', by Pacific
Equipment Company, 11 63 Knollwood Circle, Anaheim CA 92801, is hereby accepted
