Introduce Ordinance No. 0 2- 1 I (.-, Camino Vida Roble from Palomar Airport Road to El Camino Real. to establish a NO PARKING ANYTIME Zon ITEM EXPLANATION: The Palomar Airport Business Park was originally subdivided in 1976 with subsec subdivision occurring in later years. The primary access to this industrial/office p; from El Camino Real on the east and Palomar Airport Road on the west. Camino Roble is an industrial collector road with a 52’ curb to curb width and it has a pc speed limit of 40 miles per hour. The existing CC&R’s for this industrial/office park that “adequate off-street parking shall be provided to accommodate all parking nee( employees, visitors, and company vehicles on the site.” The restriction clearly define intent to prohibit on-street parking. Over the past several years, as this park has developed and as the number of busin< on Camino Vida Roble increased, parking demand has also increased. Due tc curvilinear alignment of Camino Vida Roble and the many driveway locations, stal received complaints about parked vehicles blocking sight visibility at driveways. I past 36 months there have been 14 reported collisions on the subject segme roadway. Six of the reported collisions were associated with inattention and four a result of excessive speed. The Carlsbad Police Department Traffic Division mo this roadway regularly for excessive speed and other violations. This matter was discussed at the City of Carlsbad Traffic Safety Commission meet October 7, 1991. NS-190 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 10, CHAPTER 10.40 OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CODE BY THE ADDITION OF SECTION 10.40.081 TO DECIARE A "NO PARKING ANYTIME" ZONE ON BOTH SIDES OF CAMINO VlDA ROBLE FROM PALOMAR AIRPORT ROAD TO EL CAMINO REAL. The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, hereby ordains as follows: SECTION 1 : That Title 10, Chapter 10.40 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code is ame by the addition of Section 10.40.081 to read as follows: "1 0.40.081. Parking Restricted on Camino Vida Roble. There will be no parking on both sides of Camino Vida Roble from Palomar Airport Road to El Camino Real."
