ITEM EXPLANATION: Since September 1987, Gerico's Bar & Grill, 850 Tamara Avenue in Carlsbad, has sponsored an Annual Golf Tournament benefit the Carlsbad Senior Center. In 1988, Gerico additionally started an annual fundraising dinner. Gerico's 5th Annual Carlsbad Senior Center Benefit Go Tournament took place on Saturday, September 21, 1991, at t Lomas Santa Fe Executive Golf Course. This year, the Annual Dinner took place for an entire mont Patrons could purchase dinner tickets at the Senior Center a redeem them at Gerico's Restaurant throughout the month October, with all proceeds going to the Senior Center. SENIOR COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: At their meeting on November 7, 1991, the Senior Commissi voted unanimously to recommend acceptance of $4,867 rais through the Gericols Bar & Grill 5th Annual Carlsbad Seni Center Benefit Golf Tournament and Fundraising Dinner. T Senior Commission recommends that this donation be deposit into the Senior Citizen Trust Fund and be utilized towards t purchase of special equipment at the Senior Center. Over the years, the funds you have raised for our Center have gone to support many spec programs as well as assist with the purchase of special equipment. The purchase of our n mini bus is an example of a special piece of equipment made possible through a commun effort. Thismini bus provides necessary transportation (medical appointments, shopping, el for Carlsbad Seniors who have no other means of transportation, and its purchase was rnl possible totally through community donations.
