Buddy Lewis, Mayor Council Members City of Carlsbad 1200ElmAvenue Carlsbad, CA 92008
Dear Mr. Mayor and Council Members,
This letter is to endorse the appointment of David J. Spencer as an Arts Commissioner for the City of Carlsbad. A close association as shared
skills as a team player and leader. I know him to have a strong sense of commitment to the City of Carisbad os a member of the Friends of the Carisbad Library, a homeowner of many years, and as the parent of two daughters studying in Carbbad Schools.
- I also know David to have a strong commitment to the humanities as an avid reader, playgoer, and concertgoer. What I most appreciate in David is an open mind about experiencing different and sometimes unusual events: he regularly attends the San Diego Symphony performances and has experienced the range of music from a La Jolla Chamber Music Society Summer Festiial concert to a contemporary music concert featuring SONOR, the contemporary music ensemble of UCSD. His participation at the city's Summer Jazz Concerts is really more a devotion and his devotion to the Summer Pops Concert in Carlsbad is really more a passion.
I am certain he would bring devotion, passion and insight to the Cultural Arts Program for City of Carbad and therefore strongly urge his appain+men+ as an ArtsCommissioner.
Sincerely,
coordinators for a local church program brought me an awareness of David's

Dear Bill:
. 13952 Bora Bora Way, Apt. 226F
I enjoyed your talk the other night very much.
You have certainly seen the passing human drama of the courtroom.
Here is the essay written in the 1890s by Peter Finley Dunne, who was known as "Mr. Dooley." You will certainly 8ee that things have changed when you
realize that we now worry about the problems of "speedy trial," "Miranda" and cameras in the court- room, but the old issues are the same.
I hope we can find some sort of national cause I celebre for Seattle SO that you'll get assigned here for a time.
Best wishes.
