RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 9d-43

ITEM EXPLANATION:
Since November 1991 , the City has been conducting stabilization activities at Leo Cai
for the purposes of preserving the adobe and related structures located at this histc
These activities have been funded by state grants in the amount of $490,000 receive
State Office of Historic Preservation, and a matching grant donation in the amount (
from the Carisbad Historical Society.
These funds have been completely spent in accordance with the provisions of the c
donation, however, additional stabilization work is needed to further preserve the Rai
regard, The Friends of Carrillo Ranch has been researching sources of additional fL
order to continue the stabilization work while the current contractor (Eagle Restorati
Builders) is still on site.
Allen Kindle of the Friends of Carrillo Ranch has notified the City that he has receivi
contribution in the amount of $5,000 from the Reuben H. Fleet Fund sponsored by S
Mooers for the purposes of continuing the stabilization activities. Ms. Mooer has rec

FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fisca! impact other than staff tims to administer this portion of tne proje
donated $5,000 will be deposited into the Donations & Contributions General Cons
Account (#300-810-0000-8950) and will be used entirely for actual stabilization constr
on the Leo Carrillo Ranch Carriage House.

WHEREAS, all funds from the State Office of Historic Preservation and th
Carlsbad Historical Society for the stabilization of Leo Carrillo Ranch have been spen

WHEREAS, the Friends of Carrillo Ranch is donating $5,000 received from tk
Reuben H. Fleet Fund spoiisored by Sandra Fleet Mooers to the City of Carlsbad f
continuing stabilization activities at Leo Carrillo Ranch.
WHEREAS, the $5,000 will be deposited into the Donations & Contributio
General Construction Account (#300-810-0000-8950) and funds are to be expendc
from this account.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, by the City Council oft
City of Carlsbad, California, as follows:
