ENG PROJECT NOS. 3731, 3732 AND 3739 CITY MI RECOMMENDED ACTION: 4/21 192 IMPROVEMENT, GRAND AVENUE SIDEWALKS AND C.D.6.G PEDESTRIAN RAMPS Adopt Resolution No. transferring $34,212 appropriated Traffic Im Fee funds from the Local Street Upgrade Program to the Oak Avenue s improvements, Grand Avenue Sidewalks, and Chestnut Avenue Pedestrian Ramps, iflGll%%e the City Manager‘s chanae order authorization limit as allowed by Purchasing Ordinance, a - //# ITEM EXPLANATION: Resolution 92-5 adopted by the City of Carlsbad City Council on January 7, 1 awarded a contract for the construction of street improvements to Oak Avenue, Gr Avenue, and Chestnut Avenue with estimated project expenses of $1 88,236. Altho the agenda bill showed Community Development Block Grant (C.D.B.G.) funds in amount of $254,526 as being available, there is only $154,024. Delayed recordin! Council’s previous reallocation of C.D.B.G. funds led to the error. The contract has bc awarded to Basile Construction Company and work has begun on the project. The ( Engineer has determined that using Traffic Impact Fee funds appropriated for the LC Street Upgrade Program is compatible with the intended use of TIF funds, 5 recommends that $34,212 from the Local Street Upgrade Program be used satisfactorily complete the project. FISCAL IMPACT: Funds in the amount of $300,000 are currently available in the City’s Local Street Upgrs Program Account.
