Adopt Resolution No. $2- // '& accepting a donation of $5,000 from The Fieldstone
ITEM EXPLANATION:
The Fieldstone Company has contributed funds to the City of Carlsbad Arts Office in thc
amount of $5,000 to fund the annual Arts and Business Breakfasts.
The breakfasts are co-sponsored by the Arts Office, Arts Commission the Carlsbac
Economic Enhancement Committee. They are designed to provide a forum to discuss tht
overlapping interests of business and cultural arts, and why the arts are important fo
economic development. This year scheduled speakers are Ralph Burgard on art:
education (April 1) and Michael Freedland on earned income sources for non-profi
organizations (April 29).
The Arts Office has held 2-3 breakfasts each year in the past. The Fieldstone Companl
contributed $5,000 last year for these events and has once again offered this generou
contribution.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The contributed $5,000 will cover the full costs of the breakfasts. The $5,000 will bi
deposited into the Arts Office Donation Account (880-51 9-9228-0000). The Arts Office i
authorized to spend these funds.

Foundation to the Carlsbad Arts Office. This grant is designated toward the Arts and
Business Breakfasts. It was great meeting with you recently, Connie, and hearing about
this year’s programs. We salute the fine work you’re doing in the Carlsbad community,
and I’m looking forward to attending the breakfasts.

CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A DONATION FROM THE FIELDSTONE COMPAh
WHEREAS, the City’s Arts Office provides cultural opportunities for Carlsbad
residents; and
WHEREAS, The Fieldstone Company is providing funds in the amount of $5,00(
to the Carlsbad Arts Office to fund the 1992 Arts and Business Breakfasts; and
WHEREAS, these breakfasts are co-sponsored by the Carlsbad Arts Office, Art:
Commission and the Carlsbad Economic Enhancement Council; and
