DEPT. 6/9/92 ENG I GII T n lcln N I I I I RECOMMENDED ACTION: Adopt Resolution No. 92- 163 approving the revised City of Carlsbad 1992 ' Signal Qualification List. ITEM EXPLANATION: On February 18, 1992 the City Council adopted the City of Carlsbad 1992 Traffic Evaluation Policy. Contained in the adopted Policy is the 1992 Traffic Signal Qualif List. This List ranks the intersections where traffic signals are warranted and c considered for future installation. At the May 4, 1992 Traffic Safety Commission meeting, the Commission consid request for signalization of the Carlsbad Boulevard/Oak Avenue intersection. Base4 a traffic study and warrant analysis, this intersection met traffic signal warrants anc be included on the 1992 Traffic Signal Qualification List. By a 4-0 vote, the Traffic Safety Commission recommended that the C: Boulevard/Oak Avenue intersection be added to the signal list. This locatic evaluated as ranking Number 12 on the list, The Traffic Safety Commission recom that this intersection be added as the Number 12 intersection out of a total intersections on the 1992 Traffic Signal Qualification List. I FISCAL IMPACT No impact until a traffic signal is installed. Once installed, yearly operatic maintenance costs for each traffic signal is approximately $5,000. I EXHIBITS: n 5ra : 2 2 ..
