RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Accept donations totalling sixteen thousand five hundred dollars ($1 6,500) in supp

ITEM EXPLANATION:
The following organizations have offered donations of either cash, products and
services in support of the Annual Triathlon. . The Fieldstone Company (Cash for purchase of trophies) $2, E . Daniel's Cablevision (Advertising) $5,C
Fleet Feet Triathlete of Solana Beach
(Water Bottles) $1,5
(Bike Service) $25
The Olive Garden Restaurant (Product) $30

This year the triathlon will be held on Sunday, July 1 2'h The preceding day, Saturd:
July 1 1 th, the Carlsbad Tri-Fair Festival will be staged at the Carlsbad Senior Cent
Once again, the triathlon is expected to attract 1,500 participants from all over t
country with an additional 30-50 professional Triathletes from throughout the worl
During the May meeting the Parks and Recreation Commission unanimoui
recommended that the City Council accept these donations.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The $2,500 cash donation from the Fieldstone Company will be deposited into tt
Triathlon Trust account, number 880-51 9-92-1 4-000. All products and services will t
distributed to participants and/or volunteers as part of the overall triathlon event.

RESOLUTION NO. 92-205
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACC EPTl N G DO NATlO NS TOTALLING
SIXTEEN THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($1 6,500) IN
CASH, PRODUCTS AND/OR SERVICES FOR THE 1992 ANNUAL
CARLSBAD TRIATHLON.
WHEREAS, the Fieldstone Company has donated two
thousand five hundred ($2,500) dollars to be used for purchasing awards
for the triathlon, and 13
WHEREAS, Daniels Cable Vision will provide five thousand
($5,000) dollars worth of advertising for the triathlon, and
WHEREAS, Fleet Feet Triathlete of Solana Beach has donated
one thousand five hundred ($1,500) dollars worth of water bottles and will
provide two thousand five hundred ($2,500) dollars worth of bicycle
inspection service for triathlon participants, and
WHEREAS, the Olive Garden Restaurant will provide three
thousand ($3,000) dollars worth of food at the Awards Banquet
Ceremonies, and
WHEREAS, the Power Bar Company will provide two thousand
($2,000) dollars worth of "Power Bar" product for the triathlon participants,
and
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Commission has
unanimously recommended that the City Council accept the aforementioned

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City
Council of the City of Carlsbad as follows:
1. That the City Council does hereby accept the aforementioned
donations.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting
of the City Council of Carlsbad on the 7th of Julv of 1992, by the
following vote, to wit:
