Change Order No. 5 involves construction of sidewalk and other improvements frc the properties located at 2683 and 2687 Roosevelt Street. These sidewalk improver were not included in the original contract, however, their construction will complei last remaining infill sidewalk on the west side of Roosevelt Street between Beech A\ and the last parcel at Laguna Drive. The estimated cost of this work is $7,398 with the final amount being based or measurements of the work performed. An additional $1,500 should be authorizc contingency and inspection costs. Since the aggregate total of change orders to date exceeds the City Manager's limi forth in the Municipal Code, Council approval is required. FISCAL IMPACT Funds in excess of $240,000 are available in the Local Streets Upgrade Program. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad has previously awarded a COI for the construction of improvements to Oak Avenue and CDBG Sidewalk Improvements WHEREAS, the City Council hereby finds it cost effective and expeditious and I public interest to use Basile Construction Company to complete the Roosevelt Street sidi improvements as part of the existing contract; and WHEREAS, costs relating to said work has been negotiated with the project conti resulting in Change Order No. 5 for said contract; and WHEREAS, there are funds available in the Local Street Upgrade Program accc NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carl California, as follows: 1. That the above recitations are true and correct. 2. That Change Order No. 5, Project Number 3391, for the Improvements to Roo Street sidewalk is hereby approved and the Mayor is hereby authorized and direcl execute said Change Order. 3. That funds in the amount of $8,898 from the Local Street Upgrade Progra available for use and that of these funds $800 is construction contingency.
