RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. Cj2-2b2 approving the plans and specifications authorizing
City Clerk to advertise for bids for the construction of the Carlsbad Senior Ce
Barbecue, Patio, and Deck Structure, Project No. 3371.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
Plans and specifications for the construction of the Carlsbad Senior Center Pa
Barbecue, and Deck Structure are complete and ready for advertisement
competitive construction bids. This project includes construction of a 22 foo 15 foot covered patio deck, complete with tiled counter tops, and gas and elec.
grills which will be located outside of the southwest corner of the Senior Ce
building.
The Senior Commission has formally reviewed the final plans and specifications has approved the project.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW:
The Planning Department has reviewed the proposed project and found it to bt
conformance with Conditional Use Permit No. 88-4. On January 16, 1992,
Planning Director issued a memorandum indicating the proposed Senior Cel Barbecue, Patio, and Deck Structure is exempt from environmental review.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The previously approved Roberti-Z' Berg-Harris Grant secured by the Parks Recreation Department for this project will provide 70% of the total project ( of $30,590. City Council has previously appropriated matching funds as folll

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PLANS AND
SPECIFICATIONS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO INVITE BIDS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE CARLSBAD SENIOR CENTER BARBECUE AND PATIO DECK STRUCTURE, PROJECT NO. 3371.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carl sbad has determin
necessary, desirable, and in the public interest to construct the Carlsbad !
Center Barbecue and Patio Deck Structure, Project No. 3371; and
WHEREAS, plans and specifications for the furnishing of all .
material, tools, equipment, transportation, and other expenses necessa
incidental for said project, Project No. 3371, have been prepared and are o
in the Municipal Projects Department of the City of Carlsbad and are incorpc
by reference herein; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Car'
