RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. '%?-Jq0 , amending the Local Conflict of Interest Code by the adoption of the Revised Appendix.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
The Political Reform Act (Act) requires that "No later than July 1 of each even- numbered year, the Code reviewing body shall direct every local agency ... to review its Conflict of Interest Code and ... submit an amended Conflict of Interest Code . . .'I.
In compliance with the Act, the City Council (the Code Reviewing Body), at their meeting of June 2, 1992, directed staff to review the City of Carlsbad's Conflict of Interest Code (Code).
As a result of the review, staff identified some job titles that needed to be corrected, as well as some job classifications which needed to be added to the list
Amended Appendix which reflects current job titles.
FISCAL IMPACT
Costs to implement the amendment would be directly related to the cost of providing additional forms and the increased amount of time for the filing officer and the filers.

RESOLUTION NO. 92-290
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY CUUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING THE LOCAL CONFLICT OF INTEREST CODE BY ADOPTING THE REVISED APPENDIX.
WHEREAS, provisions of the Political Reform Act of 1974.("the Act")
(Government Code Section 81000 et seq.) requires code reviewing bodies to direct
every local agency to review its Conflict of Interest Code (Code) in even-
numbered years; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is the Code Reviewing Body within the meaning
of the Act; and
WHEREAS, the City Council at their meeting of June 2, 1992, directed
staff to review the City's Code; and
WHEREAS, staff has completed the review and identified certain

AND THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT
(Effective September 22, 1992)
The positions and categories within the City listed in this appendix are Itdesignated positions. It Any person whose position with the City is a designated position is a designated employee. Designated employees shall disclose in the manner provided in the Amended Local Conflict of Interest Code of the City of Carlsbad those financial interests which are within the categories
