ITEM EXPLANATION:
Mark Rifkin has resigned as a member of the Traffic Safety Commission effel November 1, 1992. The vacated term does not expire until July, 1993. individual appointed will complete the unexpired term.
To satisfy the requirements of Section 54974 of the government code conce unscheduled vacancies, a notice inviting applications was posted at City Ha Friday, October 16, 1992.
Other members currently serving on the Traffic Safety Commission are: Thomas B John Fuller, Charles Piel, Sr., and James Stachoviak.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPOINTING ONE MEMBER TO
THE TRAFFIC SAFETY COMMISSION
WHEREAS, Mark Rifkin has resigned as a member of the Traffic
Commission from a term expiring in July, 1993;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the following person is hereby appointed to ser
member of the Carlsbad Traffic Safety Commission to fill the term which
in July, 1993,
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a Regular Meeting of the City

Dear Mayor Lewis:
Membership on the Traffic Safety Commission
Please accept my resignation as a Commissioner on the Traffic Safety Commission effective November 1, 1992. We will no longer be permanent residents of Carlsbad after that date.
Due to health reasons and a timely opportunity, we have purchased a one-story dwelling in Vista and so will be leaving the charming City of Carlsbad which we love.
Over the past six years, I have thoroughly enjoyed serving our community on the Traffic Safety Coordinating Committee and for the last year and a quarter on the Traffic Safety Commission. I appreciate your confidence in my ability and capability to serve and sincerely regret leaving.
I wish you and your elected colleagues much success as you manage the affairs of the City in the coming months and years.
