RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Introduce Ordinance No. fiJ’-adl , amending the Municipal Code to chi location where applications are filed for certification as a tester of I prevention devices.
ITEM EXPLANATION
The Municipal Code currently requires applicants desiring certificati backflow prevention device tester to file their applications (and twer dollar fee) with the City Clerk. Though that process was appropria established, circumstances have changed and the process is now cumbers(
The applications are obtained from staff located at the Water District (
District offices for processing.
Since all processing occurs at the Water District offices, it would efficient if the applications were filed at the Water District o Therefore, the attached ordinance, if adopted, will amend the Municipal provide that applications shall be filed at the Water District offices.
Applications are then filed in the City Clerk‘s Office and forwarded to tl

FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no direct fiscal impact to the city as a result of this ch procedure. It will result in less confusion for applicants, and will rec processing time required when applications are filed.

CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 14, CHAPTER 14.12 OF TH CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CODE BY THE AMENDMENT OF SECT10
14.12.090 TO CHANGE THE LOCATION FOR FILING APPLICATIONS
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California
ordain as follows:
SECTION 1: That Title 14, Chapter 14.12 of the Cz
Municipal Code is amended by the amendment of Section 14.12.
to read as follows:
