RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Ordinance No. NS-222, amending Title 10, Chapter 10.44, of the Carlsb;
Municipal Code to establish a 45 mile per hour prima facie speed limit on Palom
Airport Road, from Paseo Del Norte to its intersection with the Price Club signalize
intersection.
ITEM EXPLANATION
Ordinance No. NS-222 was introduced and first read at a regular City Council meeti
on January 12,1993. The second reading allows Council to adopt the ordinance whi
would then become effective in thrty days. The City Clerk will have the ordinax
published in the "Carlsbad Journal" within fifteen days, if adopted.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 10, CHAPTER 10.44
OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CODE BY THE AMENDMENT OF SECTION 10.44.170 TO ESTABLISH A PRIMA FACIE 45 MILE PER
HOUR SPEED LIMIT UPON PALOMAR AIRPORT ROAD FROM PASEO DEL NORTE TO THE PRICE CLUB SIGNALIZED INTERSECTION.
The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, hereby or
follows:
SECTION 1: That Title 10, Chapter 10.44, of the Carlsbad Munic.
is amended by the revision of Section 10.44.170 to read as follows:
"10.44.170 Palomar Airport Road:
(a) Upon Palomar Airport Road from Carlsbad Boulevard to intersection with Paseo Del Norte, the prima facie speed li
shall be thirty-five miles per hour.
(b) Upon Palomar Airport Road from Paseo Del Norte to its intersection with the Price Club signalized
intersection (approximately 1,800 feet easterly), the prima facie speed limit shall be forty-five miles per
hour.
(c) Upon Palomar Airport Road from El Camino Real to the easterly city limit the prima facie speed limit shall be forty-five miles per hour."
EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) (
its adoption and the City Clerk, City of Carlsbad, shall certify to th(
of this ordinance and cause it to be published at least once in th
Journal within fifteen (15) days after its adoption.
