Adopt Resolution No. 5 3- 5 1 accepting bids and awarding Contract No. 339'
construction of sidewalk and related work for Alga, Alicante Road, and El Camin
I ITEM EXPLANATION:
The sidewalk being approved for construction is part of the City Sidewalk Progra
City has established a program of sidewalk construction based upon the City S
Inventory Report prepared by the Engineering Department and adopted by City
on June 4, 1991. The sidewalk report established a priority listing of sidewalk
constructed. The program was established to facilitate the installation of sidew:
otherwise would not be constructed by land development activity or other prograr

On November 17, 1992, Council authorized the advertisement for bids for said

to Southwest Construction.

Previously appropriated funding of $240,088 is available for the Local StreeVS
Upgrade Program. In addition, $1OO,OOO has been appropriated in the
Improvement Program for 1992-1 993, for a total available funding amount at this
$340,088. The maintenance budget will not be affected in any significant way si1
amount of sidewalk added to inventory will be small.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING BIDS AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION
OF CONTRACT NO. 3391 FOR CONSTRUCTION OF SIDEWALKS FOR
ALGA, ALICANTE, AND EL CAMINO REAL ROADS. 4
5 WHEREAS, bids have been received by the City of Carlsbad for the cons

sidewalks for Alga, Alicante, and El Camino Real Roads, Contract No. 3391 ; and
WHEREAS, the low bid received for the above work was submitted by
Construction, in the amount of $61,081.90; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in the amount of $340,088, Acc
