RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Accept improvements, authorize the City Clerk to record the Notice of Completion, release
securities in accordance with State Law and City Ordinances, and direct the Utilities and
Maintenance Department to commence maintaining the public street and storm drain
improvements, the Carlsbad Municipal Water District to maintain the public sewer improvements,
and Parks and Recreation to maintain median landscaping, all having been constructed at the
northwest corner of Alga Road and El Camino Real.
I ITEM EXPLANATION:
The Developer, Carlsbad Retail Associates, has constructed improvements required of this
project. The City Engineer is requesting that City Council accept the public improvements
itemized in Exhibit 3. City forces have inspected the public improvements and found them to be
satisfactory.
I FISCAL IMPACT:
The Utilities and Maintenance Department, CMWD, and Parks & Recreation, will be required to
maintain the street, storm drain, sewer and landscape improvements, at an estimated annual cost
of $25,400.
The total value of public improvements is estimated at $1 ,128,662.
