ITEM EXPLANATION:
In December 1993, Home Savings of America, through their charitable givi
program, donated $900 to the Carlsbad Senior Center.
Home Savings has requested that the funds be utilized to purchase a piece
equipment.

At their meeting January 7, 1993, the Carlsbad Senior Commission voi
unanimously to recommend acceptance of the $900 donation from Home Savir
of America.
The Commission further discussed the donation at their February 4, 1993 meet
and unanimously voted to utilize the $900 to purchase a portable unit which incluc
a television, video cassette recorder and cart for utilization by the Seniors at '
Center.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The $900 donation has been deposited into the Senior Trust Fund
(Account #880-519-9203-0000), to be utilized to purchase special equipment for
Senior Center.

RESOLUTION NO. 93-70
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A DONATION
OF NINE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($900).
WHEREAS, Home Savings of America donated nine hundred dollars
($900) to the Carlsbad Senior Center: and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept this gift;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the Cit:
of Carlsbad as follows:
1.
($900) on behalf of the Seniors of the City of Carlsbad.
That the City Council accept the donation of nine hundred dollars
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the CI
Council of the City of Carlsbad held on the 6th day of
APRIL , 1993, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council Members Stanton, Kulchin, Nygaard, Finni
NOES: None

Dear Sheila:
Many thanks to you and Home Savings of America for your recent
donation to the Carisbad Senior Center.
The Senior Commission formally accepted the donation at their meeting
on January 7,1993. At that time they decided to further discuss where
the $900 could be utilized to best benefit the Seniors. I will advise you
of the Commission’s recommendation after their February meeting.
Again, our thanks goes out to Home Savings of America for their
ongoing support of the Carisbad Senior Program.
