AVIARA PHASE I
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Accept improvements, authorize the City Clerk to record the Notice of Completion, release
bonds in accordance with State Law and City Ordinances, direct the Utilities and
Maintenance Department to commence maintaining the public street improvements, and
the Carlsbad Municipal Water District to maintain the public water and sewer
improvements constructed at Alga Road west of El Camino Real.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
The Developer, Aviara Land Associates, has constructed improvements required of this
project. The City Engineer is requesting that City Council accept the public improvements
itemized in Exhibit 3. City forces have inspected the public improvements and found
them to be satisfactory.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The Utilities and Maintenance Department will be required to maintain the public street
improvements and CMWD the public water and sewer improvements, at an estimated
annual cost of $34,000.
The total value of public improvements is estimated at $1,638,261.
