FISCAL IMPACT:
The City of Carlsbad will receive an estimated new allocation of $512,000 in CDB(
funds for program year 1993-94. An additional $494,770.55 in CDBG funds is alsi
available for reallocation from previously approved, completed projects and a one tim
transfer of County CDBG funds to the City. The City may use a maximum of twent
percent (20%) of the new allocation, or $102,400, for administration of the program. Th
CDBG Program has no direct financial impact on the General Fund.

A RESOLUTION OF TEE CITY COUNCIL OF TEE CITY OF
FUNDING UNDER THE 1993-94 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK
CARLSBAD,CALIFORNIA, SELECTING SPECIFIC PROJECTS FOR
GRANT PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, held a public hearing on May 18, 1993 to accep
comments on the needs of low and moderate income persons a
the proposals submitted for funding consideration under th
1993-94 Community Development Block Grant Entitlement
Program; and,
Whereas, the City Council selected projects and fundi
allocations during a public meeting on May 25, 1993; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has taken all testimony in1
account.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the projects selected at the City Council meekii
of May 25, 1993 are hereby approved at the indicated funding levels for inclusion in Carlsbad's 1993-94 Community Development Block Grant Final Statement.
3. That the City will publish a summary of the proposed
projects in the local newspaper(s) and allow a fiftei
(15) day public review and comment period prior to submitting the City's Final Statement to the U.S
Department of Housing and Urban Development for
approval.

The following provides a list of the local ohiectives for the CDBG program:

Attached is a chart which summarizes the 1993-94 CDBG funding allocations approved by tl
City Council on May 25, 1993. A copy of this chart will be forwarded to each of tl
organizations submitting a proposal for funding and the CDBG Funding Committee for the
information.
The next step in the process requires staff to prepare a notice to be placed in the local newspap
which summarizes the action taken by the City Council on the 1993-94 CDBG program. ‘E
notice will also initiate a required 15 day public review and comment period. Commer
received from the public will be forwarded to the City Council for information purposes. On
and forwarded to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for final approv
and processing.
