City Council adopt Resolution No. 5 3 -'bo accepting a contribution from the Fieldstoi
Foundation.
ITEM EXPLANATION
The Fieldstone Foundation has contributed $5,000 to the City of Carlsbad Arts Office for tt
three TGIF "Jazz in the Parks" concerts which are held at Stagecoach Park on June 25 ar
July 2 and 9, 1993.
The Arts Commission recommends the City accept this contribution for the jazz concerts
help offset costs of this event which is becoming more popular each year. Attendance la
year has increased to 1,000~ per concert.
FISCAL IMPACT
Estimated cost of the jazz concerts is $15,000. The contribution from The Fieldstor
Foundation will help offset this cost.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CIW OF CARLSBB
CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A CONTRIBUTION FROM THE FlELDSTOl
FOUNDATION
WHEREAS, one of City Council's objectives for the Arts Office is to "request projc
support from individuals, businesses and foundations when applicable"; and
WHEREAS, The Fieldstone Foundation has contributed $5,000 to the Carlsbad P
Office for three jazz concerts held at Stagecoach Park; and
WHEREAS, the estimated cost to present the nine summer jazz concerts is $1 5,1
and the Fieldstone contribution will help offset this cost.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsb
California as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. That the $5,000 donation from The Fieldstone Foundation is hereby accepted l
deposited into account no. 881 -51 3-421 0-5201,
3. That the Carlsbad Arts Office is hereby authorized to expend such funds to o
the cost to present the jazz concerts.
