RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Accept work as complete in accordance with Buena Vista Channel Maintenance Project No.
U/M 92-5 and authorize the City Clerk to record the Notice of Completion in order to
release bonds and final payment to the contractor in accordance with all applicable laws.
ITEM EXPLtWATION:
The City Council awarded the Buena Vista Channel Maintenance Project Contract U/M
9205 to Rutledge Gradalls on January 5,1993 in the amount of $205,733. On April 14,
1993, Change Order No. 1 for the subject contract was issued in the amount of $4,343.05,
increasing the total contract cost to $210,076.05. Work for the maintenance contract has
now been completed as of May 31, 1993. City Council action to accept the work as
complete on the project and to authorize the City Clerk to record the Notice of Completion
will allow the release of bonds and final payment to the contractor.
FISCAL IMPACP
The entire cost for the subject contract, $210,076.05, and all staff time involved in
administering the contract is paid from funds from the Buena Vista Channel Assessment
budget which is a fund composed of assessments collected from property owners adjacent
to the channel. The project has had no impact on the General Fund budget.

The Contractor is directed to make the following changes as described herein. Changes shall
include all labor, materials, equipment, contract time extension, and all other goods and services
required to impIement this change. Payment stated on this change order includes all charges, direct
or indirect, arising out of this additional work and is expressly agreed between the City and the
Contractor to be the complete and final costs hereof. The requirements of this specification, where
pertinent and not in conflict with this change order, shall apply to these changes. This change ,
order is not effective unless signed by the City Manager and/or the Mayor.
Pursuant to subsection 3-2, Changes initiated by this Agency, Standard Suecifications for Public
Works Construction, 1991, make the following changes:
Item 1: Relocate and install 220 LF and maintain 440 LF of existing 4’ high chain link fence.
Contractor shall use a combination of recycled and new material and provide a 16
foot wide double gate with reciprocal hinges. All work shall be done in accordance
with San Diego Regional Standard drawings M-5 and M-6 including a horizontal top
rail.
