RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Resolution No. 93-/70 accepting bids and awarding a contract for the 1992
Street Chip Seal ProFam in the amount of $289,371.89 to I.P.S. Services, Inc. of :
Bernardino, California in accordance with the provisions of Contract No. U/M 93-2.
ITEM EXPLANATION:
City Council adopted Resolution No. 93-92 on April 13, 1993, approving contr
documents, special provisions/specifications, and authorizing the City Clerk to adver
for bids for the 1992-93 Street Chip Seal Program. The following six (6) bids w
received, opened, witnessed and recorded on May 26, 1993:

The bids were reviewed by Purchasing and Utilities & Maintenance Department st
I.P.S. Services of San Bernardino, California was the lowest responsive bidder in
amount of $289,371.89. The contractor's registration and bonds are in order
references are satisfactory.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW:
The Planning Director has determined the proposed project, which is limited to repair
maintenance of existing facilities, is categorically exempt from environmental rev
pursuant to Section 15301 of Title 14 of the California Code of Regulations (CE
Guidelines).
FISCAL IMPACT:
The estimate for the work was $300,000; the actual cost is $289,371.89. Adequate fu
were budgeted and are available in the Gas Tax Fund.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING BID AUTHORIZING
EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT FOR THE 1992-93 STREET
CHIP SEAL PROGRAM, CONTRACT NO. U/M 93-2
WHEREAS, bids have been received by the City of Carlsbad, Calii
for the 1992-93 Street Chip Seal Program in accordance with Contract No. U/M
and
WHEREAS, the lowest responsive bid received for this projec
submitted by I.P.S. Services, Inc. of San Bernardino, California with a total amc
$289,371.89; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in the Gas Tax Fund for completion
project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
Carlsbad, California, as follows:
