RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt Ordinance No. NS-252, amending Title 10 of the Carlsbad Municipal Cod
establish a 25 mile per hour speed limit upon Grand Avenue from Ocean Street tc
terminus at Interstate Highway 5.
ITEM EXPLANATION
Ordinance No. NS-252 was introduced at the regular City Council meeting of Augusl
1993. The second reading allows Council to adopt the ordinance which would become effective in thirty days. The City Clerk will have the ordinance published ir
"Carlsbad Sun" within fifteen days, if adopted.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBA
CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 10, CHAPTER 10.44, OF THE CARLSBI
MUNICIPAL CODE BY THE ADDITION OF SECTION 10.44.440 TO ESTABLISt-
PRIMA FACIE 25 MILE PER HOUR SPEED LIMIT UPON GRAND AVENUE FRC
OCEAN STREET TO ITS TERMINUS AT INTERSTATE HIGHWAY 5
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, hereby ordains i
SECTION 1 : That Title 10, Chapter 10.44, of the Carlsbad Municipal Code is
by the addition of Section 10.44.440 to read as follows:
"1 0.44.440 Grand Avenue:
Upon Grand Avenue from Ocean Street to its terminus at Interstate Highway 5, t
prima facie speed limit shall be twenty-five miles per hour."
EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty (30) days after its adc
