RECOMMENDED ACTION:
This item is to update the Council on the status of the Streetscape construction. action is necessary.
ITEM EXPLANATION
Construction on the Carlsbad Village Drive street enhancement project (Streetscape
begin on Sunday, September 12, 1993. Beginning after 6:OO P.M., the detour routt
be prepared. State Street between Grand Avenue and Carlsbad Village Drive wi
restriped to permit south bound traffic only. Carlsbad Village Drive will be convert€
one lane of traffic east bound only. The construction area extends from Washin
Street on Carlsbad Village Drive to Pi0 Pico. Work will begin at Washington Street
proceed east.
A ground breaking ceremony will be held on Saturday, September 1 1, 1993 at 2:OO
Immediately following the ceremony, there will be a "kick-off party includir
country/western band, clowns with face painting, magic and balloon animals ai
coloring contest. The public is invited to the activities.
Staff will give a verbal update.
