ITEM EXPLANATION: This agenda bill is part of a continuing Record Management Program for Cil Departments. Adoption of the Resolution will complete the destruction of obsolete an unnecessary files in the Parks and Recreation Department. Section 34090 of the Government code provides authority for destruction of documen that are more than two years 'old and are no longer required. This section also reques the consent of the City Attorney and the authorization of the City Council prior to th destruction of any document. Section 34090 does not authorize the destruction of the following: 1. 2. Records that affect title to real property. Minutes, Ordinances, or Resolutions of the City Council or of any Ci Board or Commission. The documents listed as Exhibit "A" to Resolution No. ?&fib have been reviewed accordance with the provisions of the Government Code, and meet those requiremer and the City Attorney has consented to their destruction. Please make those changes and forward them to the school district for its approval. Please be sure to get an executed copy from the school district and return it to the City Clerk for her files.
