ITEM EXPLANATION The City Council directed the Arts Office to seek funding from other sources when possible present arts evenfs. In September 1992, The Arts Commission decided to present a 1993 Summer Pops Concer established a fund-raising committee to raise funds for the concert. The fund-raising con set a goal of $25,000 based on estimates provided by staff to pay the concert costs. A total $17,810 was raised by the fund-raising committee from corporate and private contributi An entrance fee was also established by the Arts Commission of $5 per vehicle with single occupant or individual walk-in, and $10 per vehicle occupied by two or more persons. The concert was held on September 5, with an estimated attendance of over 4,000 and was success. A local vendor sold coffee and Arts Office volunteers sold ice cream sandwiches \I percentage of the profit benefiting the Pops Concert. The entire amount raised through contributions and fees was $25,290.62, thus meeting the goal. (See Exhibit 3, Financial on 1993 Summer Pops Concert, attached.) FISCAL IMPACT Contributions and revenues totaling $25,290.62 were deposited into the Pops Trust Fund Account and expenditures of $23,761 .OO have been paid from the account. The direct cosi the 1993 Pops Concert were covered by donations and entrance fees; however, many costs City will be absorbed by the General Fund. Remaining Pops funds will not pay for salary i overtime costs for several departments assisting in the production of the Pops Concert.
